3 Plumbing Problems You Should Never Ignore

3 Plumbing Problems You Should Never Ignore

There are all types of plumbing issues, from the minor and easy to fix, to the major and bank breaking disasters, but none of them should be disregarded. As many people have found out, water leaks, drips, and floods only get worse over time. Here are three plumbing problems you should never ignore.

1. Sewer Problem

When it comes to sewer problems, there are always surprises. Sewer lines can age and crack, trees can break into the lines, or junctions can separate. To find out what surprises your sewer line has in store for you, call in a plumber and have the company run a smoke test vacuum leak with forced air to find the problem. The fix could be as simple as augering the line or as complicated as digging trenches and replacing the pipes.

2. Water Heater

If your water heater springs a leak, you could have a serious flood in a very short time. Rather than attempt to fix the issue on your own, call a plumber to replace the unit for you. The professional can also make sure all the lines are sediment free and the pilot light is relit. If any of the connections are old or worn, you may want to replace them when you change your water heater to prevent water pressure damage to the lines.

3. Clogged Toilet

If your toilet is draining slowly, it could be a simple problem you can solve by using a plunger. If the toilet backs up and overflows, call for help because the contaminated water is filled with bacteria, and the area needs to be cleaned and sanitized after the reason for the clog is discovered.

If you find one of these three plumbing problems, turn the water main off at the shutoff and call for help. Your plumber can quickly get your home back into working order and your water back on.
